Car charging is monitored through two-way communication between the car and the control box. When the cable is connected to the power source, a self-testing diagnostic is performed that ensures the cable is properly connected and ready to power the car. Charging takes place via a Mode 2 or Mode 3 type charging cable. The control and safety functions are the same for both, but the position of the control box and the design of the cable differ.
A charging cable with a length of 7 meters can be used in situations where you cannot park the car near a charging station.
Charging with Mode 2. The control box is integrated into the charging cable and plugged into a normal wall socket.
Charging withMode 3. The control box is permanently mounted in a charging station connected to the mains. The charging cable then needs no logic for controlling charging, but has a special connector (Type 2) for connection to the control box.

- The control box does not power the cable until it is correctly connected and the car is ready to receive power.
- The cable's control box has an integrated ground fault circuit breaker. In the event of a ground fault, the power is turned off.
