Parking assist, rear is a system that makes it easier to estimate distances and alerts you to obstacles when the space behind your car is tight, for example when parking.

The system is activated when reverse gear is engaged. If an object is detected, the radio/stereo volume is reduced and an intermittent "buzzer signal" is heard from the car's rear speakers. The signal sounds when the car is still approximately 150 cm from the obstacle and changes to a steady tone when the obstacle is approximately 30 cm from the rear bumper. The remaining distance is also shown on the multimedia display in the center console.

The kit consists of four sensors mounted virtually invisibly in the rear bumper, a control unit, wiring and a button in the center console.

The system can generate "false" signals in response to external sound sources with the same frequency as the systems' sensors. Such sources often include a horn, wet tires on the asphalt, pneumatic brakes and motorcycle exhaust pipes.

The system automatically turns off when reversing with a trailer if the Trailer Unit is mounted.

The sensors are painted the same color as the car's bumper, except when the sensors are in a patterned area.
